Common Questions

Got Questions? We've Got Answers.

Do I need prior caregiving experience?
No experience is required. We coordinate the required Article 9, CPR, and First Aid training to get you started. Many of our best providers came to us with no healthcare background at all. We look for compassion, reliability, and a genuine desire to help others.
How soon can I start working?
Most providers complete training and are placed within 1–2 weeks of their initial conversation with our recruiting team. We move quickly because we know you're eager to get started.
What does the pay look like?
We offer above-market pay rates that vary by service type and experience level. Our recruiter will discuss specific compensation during your initial call. Pay increases are available based on performance, certifications, and tenure.
Can I choose my own schedule?
Yes! We offer flexible scheduling with daytime, evening, and weekend shifts available. You tell us your availability and we work to match you with members who fit your schedule.
What areas in Arizona do you serve?
We provide statewide coverage across Arizona, with strong demand in the greater Phoenix metro area including Surprise, Peoria, Glendale, Scottsdale, Mesa, and Tempe. We try to place providers close to their home communities.

Frequently Asked

Questions caregivers ask before applying

Direct answers about pay, licensing, training, and what to expect.

Do I need experience to become a caregiver in Arizona?

No. Many of our caregivers start with zero professional experience. We coordinate the required Article 9, CPR, and First Aid certifications and walk you through the process — what we look for is patience, dependability, and a genuine interest in supporting people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

How much do HCBS and DDD caregivers make in Arizona?

Compensation varies by role. Hourly HCBS, respite, and attendant-care positions typically range from $16–$22/hour. Developmental home (CDH/ADH) providers receive a daily rate per member placed plus room-and-board reimbursement. We're transparent about exact pay during your application call.

How long is the licensing process?

The full Arizona DDD licensing process typically takes 8–12 weeks from initial application to license issuance. This includes background checks, fingerprint clearance, Article 9 training, home study, and a life-safety inspection. Caregiving Solutions handles the paperwork and coordinates with state agencies on your behalf.

Do I need a fingerprint clearance card?

Yes — an Arizona DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required by state law for all caregivers and adult household members. If you don't have one, we guide you through the application. It costs $67 and typically takes 2–4 weeks to receive.

Can I be a caregiver if I have a felony or DCS/APS history?

It depends. Some felonies are automatic disqualifiers under Arizona law, but many older non-violent offenses can be cleared through the "good cause" appeals process with the Board of Fingerprinting. We review each case individually during pre-qualification — answer honestly and we'll let you know where you stand.

What's the difference between Child and Adult Developmental Home licensing?

A Child Developmental Home (CDH) licence allows you to provide in-home care for children with developmental disabilities, often in coordination with biological family for reunification. An Adult Developmental Home (ADH) licence is for adults — applicants must also understand and respect that adults in care have rights and are allowed to make reasonable choices about their own lives. Both require similar training and home inspections.

Do I need to own my home to provide developmental home services?

No, but renters need written landlord approval. Apartments may carry additional placement restrictions — we walk through your specific situation during the home study.

Is there an application fee?

There's no fee to start the pre-qualification or application process. We'll review any required costs (such as the Arizona DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, which is required by state law) during your application call so there are no surprises.

What areas does Caregiving Solutions serve?

We license caregivers throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and surrounding cities — every place we serve is within a 2-hour drive of our Surprise, AZ office. This includes Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale, Glendale, Gilbert, Tempe, Peoria, and Surprise itself.

How do I apply?

Start with our 3-step pre-qualification form below. It takes less than 5 minutes — contact info, a few about-you questions, then a quick screening section. Tracy reviews your answers and calls you within 1 business day if you're a good fit.
