Can I switch agencies with my developmental home license?
Yes. Your license is issued by the state's Office of Licensing, Certification and Regulation (OLCR), not by your agency. Changing agencies is a paperwork amendment that we prepare with you. Transfers cannot occur within 90 days of your license renewal date, and there can be no open amendments. How transfers work.

Do my members have to move?
No. Your members stay in your home with you. What changes is the agency that supports you.

What does Caregiving Solutions do that my agency doesn't?
We have behavioral health, an LPN, and SSI support in house, and someone from our team sits in on DDD program monitoring with you.

Do I need experience to become a developmental home provider?
Yes. Experience includes, but isn't limited to, working with people with developmental disabilities, caring for a loved one at home, the medical field, or case management. If you're not sure, just ask. We'll help you figure out whether your real-life experience applies to supporting people with developmental disabilities.

How are developmental home providers paid?
ADH and CDH providers receive a daily rate for each member placed in their home, plus room and board. Request a call to discuss our daily rate and the other benefits of working with Caregiving Solutions.

How long is the licensing process?
Getting your packet ready for submission to OLCR usually takes 8 to 12 weeks from your initial submission, depending on your participation. That includes background checks, fingerprint clearance, Article 9 training, and the home study. Caregiving Solutions handles the paperwork and coordinates with the state on your behalf.

Do I need a fingerprint clearance card?
Yes. An Arizona DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required by state law for all providers and adult household members. If you don't have one, we guide you through the application. It's a free service and typically takes 2 to 4 weeks to receive.

Can I be a caregiver if I have a felony or DCS/APS history?
It depends. Some felonies are automatic disqualifiers under Arizona law, but many older non-violent offenses can be cleared through the "good cause" appeals process with the Board of Fingerprinting. We review each case individually during pre-qualification — answer honestly and we'll let you know where you stand.

What's the difference between Child and Adult Developmental Home licensing?
A Child Developmental Home (CDH) license allows you to provide in-home care for children with developmental disabilities, often in coordination with biological family for reunification. An Adult Developmental Home (ADH) license is for adults, who have rights and are allowed to make reasonable choices about their own lives. A CDH also requires additional training through Foster Parent College, an extra 18 hours.

Do I need to own my home to provide developmental home services?
No. Renters do not need landlord approval. Apartments may carry additional placement restrictions, and we'll walk through your situation during the home study.

Is there an application fee?
No. There's no fee to join the waitlist or apply, and the fingerprint clearance card is a free service.

What areas does Caregiving Solutions serve?
We work with Adult and Child Developmental Home (ADH and CDH) providers throughout the Phoenix metro and in Tucson and surrounding areas, including Casa Grande. That includes Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale, Glendale, Gilbert, Tempe, Peoria, Surprise, Tucson, and Casa Grande.
